As part of the transition process into Year 7, Staughton College tests all students in Year 6. On Demand Testing provides us with valuable information regarding your child’s literacy and numeracy strengths. The information we receive from this testing helps us to determine the appropriate strategies, class groupings and education needs for your child. All students expected at Staughton in 2019 are required to attend ONE of the testing sessions as part of their enrolment. The tests will run for 1.5 hours. Staughton is conducting On Demand testing at the College on the date below. All students expected at Staughton in 2020 are required to attend ONE of the testing sessions as part of their enrolment.
The tests will run for 1.5 hours. The following session times are available:
Saturday 19th October
Tuesday 22nd October
Tuesday 29th October
Tuesday 19th November
Tuesday 26th November
Students will need to bring a book to read if they finish the test earlier than the allocated time.
Students will need to arrive at Staughton 5 minutes before the time nominated and be picked up at the end of the session.

The Education Department has released a new website that helps parents identify their local public school online. Findmyschool.vic.gov.au launched on 24 April and shows every school zone across the state. The new website highlights the choice of public schools available to the Victorian community.

All students who are applying to attend Staughton College for Year 7 in 2020 should have already been notified by their primary school in early August and received the first information booklet from the school.
Staughton College strongly supports Student Leadership at all levels from 7-12. In fact, Staughton relies on Student Leadership as an integral part of day to day life at the College.
Year 7 Student Leaders are given a range of responsibilities such as speaking at assemblies and school events, organising school initiatives, contributing to the school newsletter and more.
Students wishing to apply for a leadership position in Year 7 will need to complete the following form. Year 7 Leadership Application Form
• The school’s enrolment policy is based on the Education and Training Reform Axt 2008 which
states that students are entitled to enrol at their designated neighbourhood government school.
• To follow the Priority Order of Placement clause in the DET enrolment policy
Students are enrolled at Staughton College in the following priority order:
1. Students for whom the school is the designated neighbourhood school.
2. Students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same
3. In exceptional circumstances, compassionate grounds (Department of Education process).
