EAL (English as an Additional Language)

EAL Intervention

The EAL intervention has been designed to support students who have English as an Additional Language. With the withdrawal class going back to mainstream classes in 2020, students have all been receiving ongoing support through the EAL team regular check ins, teacher support and detailed Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

The EAL students who have been in mainstream classes all have IEPs, most are available now on XUNO for all teachers to access and use. The IEPs have goals to build upon their literacy and numeracy capacity and build their self-esteem and confidence. This program is also designed to help teachers best support the EAL students in their classroom.
