Resources:
Our collection includes an excellent range of contemporary fiction novels, including graphic novels, picture books and biographies, chosen to reflect student interests and to encourage the reading of a range of quality literature.
Non-fiction books that relate to the curriculum and general student interests are also available for loan.
Computers are accessible for school work.
Opening Hours:
Library staff are available from 8.00am until 4.30 pm. The library is not open for student use before school or during recess except for the borrowing and returning of books and equipment.
During lunchtimes, from 12.50 until the end of lunch, students may read, study and use computers for school work.
Loans:
Students may borrow two books for a period of two weeks.
If they are not returned or renewed within that time, no further loans will be permitted and an overdue notice will be issued. There is a return chute in the library information desk.
Reference services:
We can assist in finding suitable resources and advise on fiction book choices.
Information Skills:
Year seven students are introduced to library services and shown how to use the library catalogue.
Copyright policy:
The library only holds items that are legitimately purchased or recorded according to the Copyright act. Copyright regulations also apply to photocopying.
Photocopiers and printers:
The Toshiba copier in the library is available for printing and photocopying. Printing is debited from student credits which can be topped up by purchasing a print credit slip from the general Office.
Cost for photocopying is: Black & White; 10c A4, 20c A3; Colour 50c A4, $1.00 A3.
Melton Public Library:
As a part of the Year 7 curriculum, all student visit Melton Public Library and students sign up to receive free membership which will allow them to access an excellent range of information databases and other services.
