Dear Staughton Families
We’re already halfway through Term 4 — it’s hard to believe how quickly the year is flying by! The past few weeks have been full of activity and achievement across the College, and it’s been wonderful to see both students and staff working hard to finish the year on such a positive note.
This year, Staughton College has been working with staff to establish a new set of College values that will guide us for the next 10 to 20 years. Through an Appreciative Inquiry process led by Maria Ruberto from Salutegenics, we identified 11 key values that could shape our college culture into the future. The next step is to gather feedback from our parents, carers, and students. We want to hear what matters most to you and what values you believe should guide Staughton College moving forward. Once we’ve gathered feedback from across our community, we’ll refine these down to three core College values that represent our shared vision for the future.
Our Year 12 students have now completed their classes and celebrated the end of their school journey with some fantastic events. We’re incredibly proud of how they’ve handled their final year, showing resilience, determination, and care for one another. With VCE exams now underway, we wish every student success and look forward to celebrating their results soon.
Recently, we hosted the Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) testing for students hoping to join the program in 2026. It was fantastic to see so many eager learners ready to take on new challenges and extend themselves. The ongoing interest in the SEAL program is a real credit to the quality of opportunities available here at Staughton College.
Planning for 2026 is already well underway. Students have been finalising their course selections and pathways, supported by our dedicated Careers and Pathways team, who continue to do a wonderful job helping students make informed choices about their next steps. Behind the scenes, we’re also planning for staffing and programs in 2026 to ensure we continue to meet the diverse needs of our students and maintain high-quality learning experiences across the College.
Our transition programs are now in full swing as we prepare to welcome our 2026 Year 7 students. It’s always a highlight of the year meeting our newest students and families and helping them feel confident and excited about starting their secondary school journey.
We’re really looking forward to our Awards Evening, where we’ll celebrate student achievement and recognise another year of growth, learning, and success. As we head into the final weeks of the year, we encourage all students to keep attending, stay focused, and give their best right to the end. Every lesson counts, and it’s been inspiring to see so many students maintaining their effort and commitment through Term 4.
Finally, I want to sincerely thank our teachers and education support staff for their ongoing dedication and care. I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our parents and carers — your partnership, support, and involvement make Staughton College such a strong and positive community. The work we do together truly makes a difference for our students every day. There’s still plenty to look forward to before the year wraps up, but we’re already excited about what’s ahead in 2026. Our goal remains the same — to provide a supportive, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment where every student can thrive.
