Welcome to Staughton College! 

At Staughton College, we are committed to high-quality education and its positive impact on students and their communities. Over the past decade, our college has expanded significantly, now serving over 1,500 students with a dedicated team of 160 staff members. We believe that students excel when their learning and well-being are closely connected, and we are dedicated to creating an environment where every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. 

Our evidence-based teaching practices create safe, inclusive, and purposeful classroom environments. We offer individualised support to ensure academic and social success for all students, with a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy. We provide tailored support for students at all levels and continuously challenge high achievers. 

Our guiding philosophy is grounded in equity of access and high expectations, ensuring that every child can achieve their best. We are dedicated to helping each student develop a love of learning, a strong sense of self-worth, confidence, independence, and the ability to take risks and practice self-discipline. Our high expectations for learning and behaviour are tied to respect for the rights and responsibilities of everyone in our community.

Try Persevere Achieve

Our school motto is Try – Persevere – Achieve. This is a snapshot of our philosophy. It reminds all of us in our College community that learning involves a series of steps. These steps seem simple but they are essential if we want to grow as people – not just now but throughout our lives.

Try

The first step in anything is to try – to have a go even when we don’t know whether we will succeed. Sometimes just a small step is enough for us to start to learn

Persevere

Next we need to persevere – to keep trying even when we make mistakes or hit a difficult patch. Many things in life are hard and we only succeed if we persist with our efforts.

Achieve

It is only when we persevere that we move forward in life. We always enjoy the satisfaction of achieving something worthwhile. When Staughton College students achieve, we celebrate as a community.
